Louis C. Anderson, J.D.

Mr. Anderson received his B.A. from Colgate University in 1968, graduating  cum laude with honors in history. He received his law degree from Duke University in 1971 where he was an associate editor of the prestigious Duke Law Journal. Mr. Anderson was admitted into the Florida Bar in 1971 and the U.S. District Court, Southern District of Florida in 1976.
 
Mr. Anderson’s practice concentrates in estate planning, probate, estate and trust administration and asset protection; the practice also involves real property transactions and business planning. Through his extensive knowledge and experience in estate planning, including change of domicile options, he provides for his clients a clear and thorough evaluation of their estate planning needs to ensure that their accumulated assets go as intended to their heirs, charities, or other beneficiaries rather than toward unnecessary taxes, extra administration costs, or squabbles among the heirs. Mr. Anderson is a member of the Estate Planning Council of Broward County and the Professional Advisors Council of the Community Foundation of Broward. He has given lectures at local civic organizations on the art of asset preservation.

Mr. Anderson is an agent for Attorneys Title Insurance Fund, Inc., and Old Republic National Title Insurance Co. His considerable experience in residential and commercial real estate law ensures that his clients – as buyers or sellers – enjoy a stress free and smooth closing.

As part of certain estate planning needs or in purchasing real property, Mr. Anderson provides sophisticated business law options such as a limited liability companies, corporations, family limited partnerships, land trusts, mergers and acquisitions of companies, business contracts, and other such entities and advice that protect and minimize the client’s exposure from potential liability and unnecessary taxes.

Mr. Anderson attended college on a golf scholarship. He is a marathon runner, triathlete, squash and tennis player. In addition to his membership in the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Broward County Bar Association, and Wealth Counsel; he is a member and past-president of the local Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale North, the Lauderdale by the Sea Chamber of Commerce, and the American Cancer Society’s National Professional Advisor Network. Mr. Anderson stays current through his attendance at numerous seminars and forums on estate planning, asset protection, philanthropy, real property, business entities, and related areas and donates many hours of legal services pro bono to local charities. He is a passionate reader of philosophy, astronomy, outdoor fitness & adventure, and classic literature.
